Run, Magda, run!

Not content with being a manager supremo in our shared Battersea office, Magda is donning her trainers for the very first time to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

On Sunday July 3rd, Magda and her (brilliantly named) friend Flower will complete a 5k slog around the streets of Southampton as part of Race for Life. They will be raising vital funds to support cancer sufferers and their families, but there is more to Magda’s motivation. “I want to challenge myself,” she says. “I also want to do something for someone else. Now is the time of my life – so if not now, then when?”

Magda contemplating the challenge ahead (possibly…)

Training is well underway. After completing a 6k around Streatham Hill – “and I’m still alive!” – Magda has already signed up for a running club and is putting in the miles come rain or shine. “I got absolutely soaked the first time – but I absolutely loved it.”

The next step is to go shopping and spend a small fortune on neon pink kit…

More than eight million women have taken part in Race for Life since it began 20 years ago, raising over £547 million to fund research into two hundred different types of cancer affecting men, women and children. Whether you walk or jog a 5 or 10k, charge through a muddy obstacle course or even try out a half or full marathon, there are lots of ways to support Cancer Research UK – starting with a donation, of course.

To donate to Magda and Flower (and you know you’re going to) visit Magda’s Just Giving page to read her story and give as much as you can. She has already smashed her original target of £100 – how much more can Le Bus help her raise?
