Le Bureau now has it’s very own library courtesy of writer-in-residence, Rosy Edwards.
Rosy is having a jolly around Asia for most of February, leaving her desk free, and full of books thanks to her role as co-founder of writers’ community The Riff Raff.
“The Riff Raff is a monthly book event where five, debut authors read from their first book and dispense advice to anyone hoping to get published,” says Rosy.
“We get sent copies of all the authors’ books in advance– plus a few more that just turn up.
“As I’ll be away, and my desk will essentially be standing empty, I’ve turned it into a mini library to share the literary love with Le Bu’s wonderful members.”
The library will be open before 9am and again after 6pm, and will operate on an honour system: anyone wanting to borrow a book should sign it out along with the date borrowed then sign it back in again when they’re done.
It’s a way of getting your hands on books for free, as well as a great opportunity to discover talented new authors.
“The Riff Raff champions debut authors, so all the books are at the forefront of the contemporary literature scene,” says Rosy.
You’ll find everything in the Le Bureau library from award-winning fiction to spine-tingling memoirs, and there are plenty of books for little ones to take home, too.
On this note, Rosy asks that you please only borrow what you know you can return.
The library will be open as of 30th January so head over to Rosy’s desk on the far side on F7 (the Brown Room is the closest meeting room) to borrow a book.
